Danyelle Huber Named Head Coach of Corban Softball Team

SALEM, Ore. – Corban University Athletic Director Sue Roth announced on Monday morning that Danyelle Huber has been named the head coach of the Corban softball program. Huber's exceptional pedigree and familiarity with the program make her an exceptional candidate to fill the role.

"I am so excited that Danyelle has accepted our offer to become the next head softball coach at Corban University," said Roth. "We had a great pool of applicants, but it became very evident that Danyelle deserved this opportunity. I am completely confident that her unique softball knowledge, experience, and strong leadership skills will launch our softball program further into excellence on and off the field."

Huber is already familiar with the Warrior program, as she served as the lead assistant coach on Corban's staff last season, sharing in the oversight of the squad's instruction, recruitment, data tracking, and planning.

Prior to her time with the Navy and Gold, Huber enjoyed a highly successful coaching career at the high school level, making a name for herself with a pair of local programs. From 2013-2015, Huber served as the head coach of McKay High School, where she was named the Coach of the Year in 2014. She also coached at West Salem High School from 2015-2020.

"I am blessed and thrilled to have such an amazing opportunity to be the head softball coach for Corban University," said Huber. "Being able to continue to be a part of Corban softball with such a great group of girls, I could not be more excited to carry the firm foundation of softball that has already been established. As we look to the future, we are excited to come together, set goals, work hard, stay consistent, and strive towards accomplishing our goals by doing the small things to get there. Go Warriors!"

Huber will be inheriting a team that finished fourth in the hyper-competitive Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) regular-season standings in 2021, landing behind three teams that made it to the NAIA World Series.

Corban has its own rich legacy of success on the field, having reached the NAIA Tournament five times in the past nine years, and the program will look to reach new heights under Huber's leadership.
