SALEM, Ore. – Corban University Director of Athletics Sue Roth announced on Thursday that Corban has hired Todd Bos to take over as the Warriors' new head track & field and cross country coach. He will be just the second head coach in each of the two programs' histories.
"I am thrilled that Todd Bos will be the next head cross country and track & field coach," Roth stated. "Since Todd has been with the program the last few years as an assistant coach, he brings a wealth of knowledge and has created great relationships with our staff and athletes. He also believes fully in our vision and mission, and he will be instrumental in continuing a strong spiritual emphasis while growing our teams. I look forward to where Todd will take the men's and women's programs, and I have every confidence in his leadership and discipleship abilities."
Bos served as an assistant coach for the Navy and Gold cross country and track & field teams over the past two seasons, giving him a detailed knowledge of the programs. As a key part of the Warrior coaching staff, Bos helped train Corban athletes to a number of historic performances.
"A big 'thank you' to Dr. Nord, Sue Roth, and the hiring committee for selecting me to begin the next chapter of cross country and track & field at Corban University," Bos said. "I'm excited to keep the focus on Christ as our cornerstone, while emphasizing excellence in the classroom and on the athletic field."
Prior to joining the Warrior staff, Bos served as the head coach at St. Paul High School, where he coached for 15 years in total. A member of the school's Hall of Fame for his exceptional contributions, Bos captained the school to four state championships and nine top-three team finishes.
"Along with Corban's construction of the new outdoor athletic complex, my staff and I will work tirelessly to build a 'Warrior Mentality' of hard work, high expectations, and humble hearts in the athletes God entrusts to us," Bos added.
Possessing a decorated athletic pedigree of his own, Bos won numerous accolades during his collegiate career as a cross country and track & field standout at George Fox University (then George Fox College). He was an All-American in the 800-meters, and still lays claim to the school's record in the event (1:50.00). In addition, he was an Academic All-American in both track & field and cross country, and is a part of the George Fox Hall of Fame.
Bos will begin his duties at Corban immediately.
