Three CCC Teams Ranked in Preseason NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eastern Oregon University leads three Cascade Collegiate Conference teams ranked on the preseason edition of the NAIA Women’s Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, released Wednesday by the national office.

The Mountaineers enter the 2021 season with a No. 6 ranking after finishing the spring campaign with a trip to the NAIA Volleyball Championship quarterfinals. EOU posted a 19-2 overall mark and was picked as the CCC preseason favorite to win the conference.

Corban University follows at No. 15 after coming off a trip to the NAIA Championship Tournament and a 14-5 overall record. The Warriors won the 2020 CCC Volleyball Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, just four months ago.

Southern Oregon University rounds out the trio at No. 25 after opting out of the 2020 season due to coronavirus concerns. The Raiders re-enter the competition and look to pick up where they left off in 2019, where they grabbed a 31-5 overall record and won the 2019 CCC tournament championship.

Poll Methodology
  • The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
  • Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
