CORVALLIS, Ore. – After missing out on the 2020-21 season due to border closures because of the coronavirus, British Columbia is back in action and was picked to win the Cascade Collegiate Conference title, the conference announced Monday.
The Thunderbirds garnered six of eight first-place votes for 62 points to sit atop the 2021-22 CCC Men’s Golf Preseason Poll. UBC looks to make a triumphant return and reclaim the trophy after winning the regular-season and tournament titles in 2019. That year, the Thunderbirds took fifth at the NAIA Championship Tournament.
Multnomah University proved it was a force to be reckoned with last year after claiming its first CCC Men’s Golf Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, by just one stroke. The Lions picked up one first-place vote heading into the new season, grabbing 54 points to sit in second.
Oregon Tech followed in third place with 48 points, while Bushnell University – which won the CCC regular-season title – picked up 37 points for fourth. Lewis-Clark State College grabbed one first-place vote and totaled 35 points to sit in fifth. Corban sits in sixth with 26 points, while the College of Idaho (21 points) and Walla Walla University (eight points) close out the last two spots on the list.
The 2021-22 CCC Men’s Golf Championship Tournament takes place April 25-26, 2021, with Oregon Tech as host in Klamath Falls, Ore.
