CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference has partnered with WVT Laboratory, as announced Thursday.
"On behalf of our institutions, we welcome WVT Laboratory as sponsor of our Player of the Week Program," stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. "Mr. Manny Cruz and the entire team at WVT understand the importance of our student-athletes having the opportunity to compete and the services they provide are of great benefit to our membership."
Located in Corvallis, Ore., WVT is a clinical reference laboratory specializing in Covid-19 and Toxicology testing. It was created from an alliance with Oregon State and has grown into one of the highest throughput Covid testing labs in the Pacific Northwest.
As partner, WVT Laboratory will help with the conference’s
Commitment to Play Plan, which will still require pre-departure and game day screening for virus symptoms in high/mid contact sports but will not require weekly surveillance testing. However, with the surge in the Delta variant, testing remains an option tha the league may utilize to do all that is possible to complete seasons.
“It is an honor and a pleasure to be such a key component in the CCC’s Commitment to Play program for the 2021-22 school year,” said Cruz, WVT Laboratory CEO/Principal Partner. “We will do our absolute best on our end to track any outbreaks promptly and efficiently in an effort to keep these student-athletes active in their respective sports.”
WVT Laboratory participates in proficiency testing through the College of American Pathologists to ensure our results are held to the highest standard.
