Tenth-Ranked Mountaineers Blank Eagles 1-0 on the Road

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Tenth-ranked Mountaineer Women's Soccer picked up its first win of the season Sunday night as they took down Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) 1-0 on the road. The Mountaineers win over the Eagles improves their record to 1-1 on the season.

How it Happened

• The Eagles outshot the Mountaineers 8-3 overall and had a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. Goalkeeper Madeline Barker did well in her start with four saves in the first period.
• Despite the offensive pressure by the home team, Eastern went into the halftime break with the one goal lead. The Eagles continued to put a barrage of shots in the second frame, but stout defense by EOU kept the score at a final of 1-0.
