Volleyball Wraps up Arizona Trip

GLENDALE, Ariz. – LC State Volleyball closed out the 2021 Firestorm Volleyball Classic on a tough note with a pair of losses on Saturday. After taking the first set against MSU-Northern to start the day, the Warriors dropped the next three to the former conference opponent (23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-23). LC faced a strong Arizona Christian team in the afternoon and dropped the match in straight sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-13).

“This weekend took us by surprise,” Head Coach Shaun Pohlman said. “We knew we were going to get challenged – the goal was to get challenged – but it definitely took us by surprise. How we played it not okay and we are going to get to work come next week with Cascade Conference play coming.

“There is definitely a better team than what preformed this weekend. Normally I’d say that we are looking forward to our upcoming matches, but instead we are looking forward to our upcoming practices so we can watch film and let our players know what adjustments need to be made. Ultimately we need some leaders and people that want to step into the leadership role and help propel this team forward.”
