Big Second Half Leads Yotes to 4-0 Win at George Fox

NEWBERG, Ore. – After a scoreless first half, College of Idaho racked up four goals in the final 45 minutes to pull away late in a 4-0 win at George Fox on Friday night.

Larissa Wegner started the offense for the Yotes (2-2) in the 47th minute, chipping a shot directly over the jumping keeper after a nice find by Kaitlyn Ramon to make it 1-0.

The advantage would grow quickly for C of I from there on, with Laura Staropoli perfectly serving a corner in front of the net for Brynna Herridge to head in for a goal in the 53rd minute. The attempt from Herridge initially made contact with the crossbar before bouncing in.

Not content with the two-goal edge, the Yotes kept the run going when Lily Schlake stepped into a 28-yard strike from straight away that cleared the keeper, making it 3-0.

Dalani Brayton added her first career goal in the 87th minute to conclude the scoring for the contest, racing past the defense and winning a 1-v-1 battle with the keeper to give the Yotes a four-goal lead.

In the net, Shae Waters made six saves in the first half and Hannah McFadden had three to combine for the shutout.

C of I wrapped up the game with a 17-14 advantage in shots and an 11-9 edge over the Bruins (1-2) in shots on frame. Each team had three corners.

The Yotes conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule on Sunday at Linfield.
