ELLENSBURG, Wash. – College of Idaho runners swept the top-three spots, as the Coyotes won their eighth-straight regular season cross country race, dominating the field at the Central Washington Invite at the CWU Campus Course.

Despite having a limited number of competitors, including two All-Americans, the No. 3-ranked Coyotes had three racers break the 16-minute barrier on the 4,000-meter course – easily topping NCAA Division II regionally ranked Western Washington.
True freshman Kahea Figueira made the most of her collegiate debut, blitzing the 45-racer field with a time of 15:33 nearly seven seconds clear of teammate and 2-time All-American, Larissa Mauer (15:40). Steeplechase All-American Sage Martin had her best finish on the cross country course, placing third overall (15:56).
C of I finished with a team score of 29, well ahead of Western Washington (51) and Northwest University (55). The Yotes 5-runner team time was nearly two minutes faster than any of the other squads.
Megan McManus (16:37) and Molly Connor (16:47) placed 11th and 12th, rounding out the Coyotes scoring racers.
The Yotes return to action next Friday at the Eastern Oregon Invite in La Grande.
