The following two CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the WVT Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Dec. 20, 2021, to Jan. 2, 2022.
Women’s Basketball – Player
Bushnell University’s Morgan McKinney was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
McKinney, a senior guard/forward from Lake Oswego, Ore., had a solid performance for the Beacons, averaging 17.4 points in five games on 55.9-percent shooting, scoring in double figures in all five games. McKinney shot at 77.8-percent (7-of-9) to lift the Beacons 75-65 over Eastern Oregon University, setting a new program record for most games played (117) in a career in the process.
Men’s Basketball – Player
No. 18-ranked College of Idaho’s Drew Wyman was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Wyman, a freshman forward from Great Falls, Mont., had a big weekend for the Coyotes, posting career-highs with 23 points and nine rebounds at Bushnell, including a buzzer-beater at the end of regulation to force OT. He now has seven-straight double-digit scoring games and finished the week averaging 17.0 points per game. Against Corban University, Wyman added a season-high four steals with an 11-point performance on 55.6-percent shooting.
