Portland, Ore. – Facing its largest and deepest field of the season, the College of Idaho women’s cross country team finished third at the Lewis & Clark College XC Invitational on Saturday.
“I thought we ran well today,” said head coach Dominic Bolin. “I am glad we got some big race experience with a large field. We are looking forward to a couple more weeks of training before we head to conference.”
The College of Idaho team shared second place with NCAA Division I Oregon State, by virtue of a tiebreaker, the Yotes took home third-place honors – the highest among the NAIA teams in the 24-team field. The top finisher for College of Idaho was Ellyse Tingelstad, who covered the 6k course in 21:36.6, 3.2 seconds behind individual winner and unattached runner Shannon Hugard.

(pictured; photo by Bree Lewis) finished two spots back behind a pair of runners from NCAA Division III institutions – Pacific Lutheran and host Lewis & Clark – to take fourth in 22:00.3. They were joined in the top 10 by Sage Martin, who was eighth in 22:14.6.
The next two runners for College of Idaho were Kahea Figueira and Molly Connor, who finished 29
th (22:56.8) and 47
th (23:23.9), respectively. Just behind Connor was teammate Makena Houston, who finished 48
th (23:25.0). The Beavers were able to secure second as their sixth runner was 39
th.
The next meet for College of Idaho is the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on Friday, Nov. 4,
