COMPLETE RACE RESULTS
ESTACADA – The 16th-ranked Southern Oregon men's cross country team placed fourth of 30 teams and the No. 10 Raider women were seventh of 24 in Saturday afternoon's Lewis & Clark Invite at Milo McIver State Park.
Isaac Fernandez completed the 8,000-meter course in 24 minutes 59.9 seconds to finish 20th in a men's field that featured 345 finishers, and Logan Jones was a couple ticks behind him in 22nd at 25:02.2
The rest of SOU's scorers all came in within the next 41 seconds and were top-52 in the field: Jensen Salvatori (25:34.0, 44th), Frankie Maciel (25:36.5, 46th) and Luke Lucchesi (25:43.7, 52nd).
Kayla Clayton paced the Raider women in 23rd place out of 261, clocking a 6K time of 22:39.8. Haylee Brodahl was 35th in 23:00.0, Sydnee Kizziar 42nd in 23:09.6, Alejandra Lopez 52nd in 23:17.8, and Maya Smith 88th in 24:09.4.
The Raiders were racing for the first time in four weeks.
University of Portland topped the men's standings with 31 points and Eastern Washington claimed the women's title with 65.
SOU will travel next week to Winfield, Kan., for Southwestern College's NAIA Mid-States Classic. It'll serve as their final tune-up for the Cascade Conference Championships, which SOU will host in Talen on Nov. 4.
