College of Idaho Finishes Record-Setting Tournament with Victory at Cal Maritime Invitational

VALLEJO, California - For the second-straight day, the College of Idaho men’s golf team posted a record-setting round en route to another school record for 36-hole total. At the Blue Rock Springs Golf Course in Vallejo, California, the men shot a round of 278 in Tuesday’s final round to break Monday’s record of 285 on its way to a 36-hole total of 563 to eclipse the old mark by 43 strokes - 606 (311-295) that was set on September 28-29, 2014 at the Border War. All the record setting team play led the Yotes to its first team title in program based on records available.

The record-setting efforts of the team led to some record-setting individual play, too. Ethan Schloss became the latest Yote to win an individual title, shooting a final round 67 and a 36-hole total of 137 (-3) for a four-stroke victory. His final round 67 matches the third-best individual round in program history. The 36-hole total of 137 by Schloss eclipses the 36-hole total record of assistant coach Chris Carew of 140. Schloss is the 10th individual in program history to win an individual title and the first since Tristan Belue won the NNU Intercollegiate (March 28-29, 2022).

To go along with individual title by Schloss, three of his teammates – Tristan Belue, Camden Chose and Parker Edwards shared fourth-place with a 144 (+4). To round out the lineup, Shane Rene joined them in the top 10 with a 10th-place finish with a 147 (+7). As an individual, Kaissan Virani was 25th with a 165 (81-84).

The men will wrap up the fall with the Bushnell Tall Timber Invitational, October 24-25.
