2022 CCC Volleyball Postseason Awards Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2022 Cascade Collegiate Conference Volleyball postseason awards were announced Thursday by the conference office. The awards were voted by the CCC head volleyball coaches.

No. 4-ranked Corban University’s Rylee Troutman was named the Rize Laboratory Player of the Year, while fellow Warrior Makayla Roginski grabbed Freshman of the Year. Northwest University’s Kelsey Moore was voted as the Libero of the Year and The Evergreen State College’s Sierra Wolff won Setter of the Year. Top-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Kaki Mclean Morehead was named the Coach of the Year and The Evergreen State College picked up the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Troutman, a sophomore outside hitter from Powell Butte, Ore., has been an offensive threat for the Warriors, averaging 4.22 kills per set, which ranks fourth in the NAIA and first in the CCC. She has finished with double-digit kills in 23 matches, including a season-high 24 in a 3-2 victory over No. 1-ranked EOU. Troutman also has 38 aces (ninth in the CCC) and 25 total blocks. Earlier this year Troutman became the first Warrior to be named the CCC Attacker of the Week for the third-straight week, her fifth time overall.

Roginski, a freshman opposite/outside hitter from Gresham, Ore., has had a stellar collegiate debut season so far. She boasts a .315 hitting percentage, which ranks second in the CCC and in the top-30 in the NAIA. Roginski averages 2.54 kills and 2.83 points per set. Defensively, she has 51 total blocks and 47 digs on the year.

Moore, a junior defensive specialist/libero from Edmonds, Wash., has been a key component to the Eagles’ defensive game. She averages 5.30 digs per set, which leads the CCC and ranks 25th in the NAIA. Moore also has 63 assists, 35 aces and three rare kills on the year.

Wolff, a graduate student setter from Caldwell, Idaho, helped the Geoducks qualify for the CCC Volleyball Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, as the No. 5 seed. She averages 8.78 assists per set, which ranks second in the CCC and ranks in the top-50 in the NAIA. Wolff also has 28 aces, 76 kills, 200 digs and 51 total blocks – including 14 solo efforts – on the year.

Morehead led the Mounties to their second CCC regular-season championship in three years and an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament – not that they needed after sitting in the top spot of the Coaches’ Poll for the past four weeks. EOU leads the CCC in multiple statistical categories, including .091 opponent hitting percentage, 2.91 blocks per set (which also leads the NAIA), and 16.78 digs per set. The Mounties have only allowed two losses all year, both to ranked foe, and go into postseason with a nine-match winning streak.

The regular-season champs saw five Mounties earn all-conference, with three grabbing spots on the first team.
