Raiders go to 4-0 at Antelope Valley

LANCASTER, Calif. – Junior forward Kami Walk registered 19 points and five rebounds and Southern Oregon improved to 4-0 with a 65-56 road victory against Antelope Valley (Calif.) on Thursday night at the Pioneer Event Center.

Walk shot 6-of-9 with five rebounds, scoring in double figures for the fourth consecutive game. Brianna Phiakhamngon went for 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and six rebounds, and Kalei Iwami had 10 points, five rebounds and four steals.

After trailing the Pioneers (2-1) 20-18 after the first quarter, the Raiders outscored them 18-11 in the second and 21-10 in the third.

They shot 47 percent from the field and 19-of-25 at line for a 15-point advantage on free throws.

Yasmine Ahllamara hit both of her 3-point attempts to score seven off the bench, and Makayla Scurlock and Danasia Allison chipped in six apiece. Allison also had three steals and Emma Schmerbach had two. Clara Robbins pulled down a team-high seven boards.

Chinna Fair's 19 points led the Pioneers. She needed 17 attempts to get them.

SOU will put its perfect record on the line Saturday night at No. 2-ranked Westmont (Calif.). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
