SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Westmont (Calif.) women's basketball team flexed its No. 2 NAIA ranking in a 57-40 win against Southern Oregon on Saturday night at Murchison Gymnasium, handing the Raiders their first loss.
Stefanie Berberabe accumulated 14 points, five assists and four steals, leading the defensive charge as the Warriors forced 20 turnovers and held SOU to 24-percent shooting from the field.
Kami Walk had team-highs of 11 points and seven rebounds for the Raiders. Makayla Scurlock scored eight off the bench and Danasia Allison added seven.
SOU (4-1) was limited to six points in the first quarter and went into halftime down 27-17.
The Warriors improved to 3-0 and have won 16 consecutive regular season games dating back to last season, excluding a COVID-19 forfeit.
The Raiders are off until starting Cascade Conference play on Dec. 2 at College of Idaho.
