CORVALLIS, Ore. – The College of Idaho women’s cross country team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for Nov. 14-20, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The sixth-ranked Coyotes led three CCC teams at the 43rd Annual NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championship at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla., on Friday. It was C of I’s third top-three finish in four years, with two runner-up finishes in 2019 and 2020.
The Coyotes took third overall with 201 points after putting three runners in the top 30. Ellyse Tingelstad led the pack with a 24th-place finish overall with a time of 17 minutes, 55.1 seconds, followed by Sage Martin in 26th (17:57.5) and Abbey Shirts in 28th (17.59.6). All three earned All-American honors with their top-40 finishes.
In addition to the three All-American honors, Kahea Figueira was 46th in 18:19.2 and Molly Connor was 108th in 18:58.5 to round out the top five for the College of Idaho. Charlie Duff was 170th (19:28.7), followed by Jovi Kuskie in 175th (19:30.4).
