CCC Women’s Basketball Season Tips Off Today

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2022-23 Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s basketball season tips off today with three conference games, beginning a 22-match schedule to determine who will win the regular-season crown and the first of the CCC’s two automatic qualifiers (AQ). The top eight teams in the final standings will also advance to the CCC Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament presented by U.S. Bank, with the other AQ on the line.
 
Lewis-Clark State College was picked as the preseason favorite and leads a trio of CCC teams on the latest NAIA Coaches’ Poll, sitting at No. 17. Southern Oregon University sits at No. 20 while Eastern Oregon University is receiving votes.

Bushnell University comes off a big 30-point victory over Lewis & Clark College to end its non-conference slate. Corban University, on the other hand, looks to bounce back from a 54-45 loss to Arizona Christian University. The Beacons boast an 18-10 all-time record over the Warriors and have won the last seven games.

Warner Pacific University enters its first conference game of the year looking for its first win of the season. Multnomah University comes back to the mainland after a three-game trip in Hawaii where the Lions went 1-2 with a win over NCAA Division II Chaminade University, 88-73. The Knights hold a 15-2 upper hand in the all-time series with the Lions, including winning the last 11 matchups.

No. 17-ranked Lewis-Clark State College tips off the conference season at home against Walla Walla University, coasting a three-game winning streak. The Warriors come off a 64-56 victory over Montana Tech 10 days ago. Walla Walla University comes off its first win of the year with a 65-44 victory over Linfield University last week. LC State has not conceded a loss to WWU, boasting a 9-0 all-time record over the Wolves.
