CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a solid season, including leading the Cascade Collegiate Conference at the 2022 NAIA National Championship, the College of Idaho’s Hayden Bostrom was named the 2022 CCC Men’s Cross Country Rize Laboratory Runner of the Year, announced Wednesday.
Southern Oregon University’s Grier Gatlin was named the Coach of the Year and Northwest University won the Team Sportsmanship Award.
Bostrom, a sophomore from Boise, Idaho, finished fourth at the 2022 CCC Men’s Cross Country Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, to grab all-conference first-team honors. He finished with a time of 25 minutes, 25.4 seconds to help the Coyotes take second as a team.
At the NAIA National Championship, Bostrom took 25
th individually with a time of 24:42. He was the fastest CCC finisher and picked up All-American honors with his top-40 finish. Bostrom led C of I to its fourth top-10 finish in five years after the Coyotes took seventh as a team.
Following the CCC championship, Gatlin was selected by his peers as the Coach of the Year after leading the Raiders to their first conference championship since 2017. It marks his 10
th Coach of the Year honor.
