CORVALLIS, Ore. – The seeds for the 2022 Cascade Collegiate Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, were finalized Saturday night. While there is still one CCC match left to play Saturday night, it has no impact on the qualifications or seedings.
No. 1-ranked Eastern Oregon University won its second regular-season CCC championship in three years to pick up the top seed and hosting rights in the tournament. The Mounties only conceded one loss in conference action to pick up the CCC’s first automatic qualifier to the NAIA Tournament.
No. 3-ranked Corban University earned the second seed despite finishing the conference season tonight against Walla Walla University. (RV) Southern Oregon University and Bushnell University both finished with the same 14-8 conference record, but the Raiders earned the third seed after sweeping the Beacons – who pick up the fourth seed – in CCC play.
The Evergreen State College grabbed the fifth seed, while Lewis-Clark State College took the final spot by way of a tiebreaker after sweeping Oregon Tech during the season.
The CCC tournament takes place Nov. 11-12 in La Grande, Ore. Whichever team wins the tournament will earn the CCC’s second AQ to the national tournament. If EOU advances to the final, the Mounties’ opponent will earn the AQ.
