RENO, Nev. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) saw multiple wrestling programs make appearances in the annual Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno, Nevada, as MSU-Northern, Southern Oregon, Embry-Riddle, Vanguard, Eastern Oregon, Corban, Menlo, Simpson, and Warner Pacific all sent men’s wrestlers to one of the largest wrestling showcases in the nation.
CORBAN - Despite being shorthanded on one of the biggest stages that collegiate wrestling has to offer, the (RV) Corban Men’s Wrestling team fought through one of the toughest brackets their going to see all season long at the Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno, Nevada.
“We may have some work to do, but we saw some of the best the country has to offer at all levels today!” Corban Interim Head Coach Kary Hadden shared earlier today.
“With schools such as Michigan State, Wyoming, Indiana State, and Grand View taking the top four spots, it’s important to realize how good the competition and experience was today for our men. Bo and Tyson each came one match away from placing in the top six of their weight classes!” Hadden elaborated.
Freshman Bo Davis (133) and sophomore Tyson Stover (197) each recorded three or more match wins to lead the Warriors, with the duo earning multiple major decisions over NAIA opponents. Freshman Blake Runion earned himself an NCAA DI takedown, as he defeated Michigan State’s Blake Noonan in a narrow 2-1 decision.
