Rize Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. The following four CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the WVT Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Dec. 12-18, 2022.
 
Men’s Basketball –Player
(RV) Corban University’s Darius Henderson was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Henderson, a senior forward from Pasadena, Calif., found his stride entering the Christmas break, posting back-to-back double-doubles of 20-plus points and 10/13 rebounds against LC State and Walla Walla, respectively. He sits in the top 10 for the CCC in virtually every category applicable to the 6-foot-9 forward, including points per game, rebounds per game, blocks per game, field goal percentage, and free-throw percentage.
 
Women’s Basketball –Player
College of Idaho’s Sienna Riggle was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Riggle, a senior forward from Stansbury Park, Utah, had a pair of double doubles (14 pts, 15 rebounds) in a 67-52 win over Multnomah University. She followed that up with 17 points, 13 rebounds in the 70-59 win over Warner Pacific University. Riggle finished the week with 15.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per game.
 
Men’s Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 10-ranked University of Providence’s KC Buday was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Buday, a senior heavyweight from Great Falls, Mont., came up big for the Argos at the Southeastern Duals and improved to 13-1 on the season over the weekend. The fourth-ranked 285-pound grappler earned a 3-2 decision over defending champ and current No. 1 Gage Braun of Southeastern and posted a tech fall 22-6 over Wylie Dunn of Cumberlands (Ky.) to clinch the dual win for Providence as a team. UP went 3-1 overall, wrestling against those two schools along with Reinhardt (Ga.) and Cumberland (Tenn.).
 
Women’s Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 8-ranked Menlo College’s Ajayzee Zaballos was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Zaballos, a sophomore 116-pound wrestler from Castro Valley, Calif., went undefeated at the West Coast Tournament of Champions to win her weight class championship and help the Oaks take first in the tournament as well. She posted three tech falls and three pins at the tournament, including her best pin in one minute, 45 seconds.
