CORVALLIS, Ore. – Cambree Scott of Eastern Oregon University was named the Academic All-America® of the Year to add to an already impressive resume.
Scott, a middle hitter from Bend, Oregon, became a four-time first-team All-Cascade Collegiate Conference performer, all-tournament in the NAIA Championships, three-time AVCA All-NAIA Northwest Region and 2020 CCC Player of the Year.
This past year, Scott topped the NAIA with 1.45 blocks per set and 180 blocks to go with a .255 hitting percentage and 2.25 kills a set. Scott took over as the Mountaineers’ all-time block leader with 710. Scott, a three-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete, turned in a 4.00 cumulative GPA as a graduate student working towards a teaching degree.
Oregon Tech’s Nicole Reyes (Fairfield, Calif.) and Northwest University's Kelsey Moore also picked up NAIA Academic All-America® honors, repeating as a first-team selections. Reyes grabbed the honor after boasting a 4.00 GPA while double majoring in manufacturing engineering and mechanical engineering. Moore, a user experience design major from Edmonds, Wash., is NU's first Academic All-American in volleyball.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program.
