CORVALLIS, Ore. – Southern Oregon University’s Ty Dean was selected by the Cascade Collegiate Conference to attend the NAIA Governance Academy this April.
"We are excited to have Ty in attendance at the inaugural NAIA Governance Academy representing the Cascade Collegiate Conference and SOU," stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. "This will be an outstanding opportunity for him to gain important insight into the workings of our national organization and hopefully be of added value to his personal and professional journey."
Dean, who was on the Raider football team and a member of the CCC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, now works in administration as the Game Management Coordinator and advisor to the Black and Red Crew (SAAC). He also helps coach the Raider women’s basketball team and was nominated by SOU’s Director of Athletics Matt Sayre.
“It is an honor to have been provided this opportunity to represent our conference and the values of what our conference stands for," said Dean. "I aspire to learn more, make connections and grow as I strive to become an athletic director myself one day and instill the values and morals I have learned through my time as a student-athlete and now working in the Department of Athletics at SOU. “
The NAIA Governance Academy provides intense training on NAIA governance issues and strategic initiatives, introduces attendees to NAIA committee work, and prepares young minority and female administrators for committee service.
