KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Multnomah University’s Tyrese Taylor was named the NAIA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the national office.

Taylor, from Copperas Cove, Texas, was critical in Multnomah's back-to-back wins against Northwest University and The Evergreen State College. In the Lions’ overtime win against Northwest, Taylor put up solid numbers on both sides of the ball, finishing with 32 points and 13 rebounds. During overtime, he scored the game-winning shot to lead the Lions to victory. The next day he added 22 points and 14 rebounds against the Geoducks.

The sophomore center currently leads the conference with a 10.1 rebounds per game average, including 3.4 offensive boards per game, and sits third in the CCC with an 18.6 points per game average.
