Coyotes Lead CCC Group in Learfield Directors’ Cup Winter Standings

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The final NAIA Learfield Directors’ Cup winter standings were released Thursday, with College of Idaho leading the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in the NAIA winter championships of men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s bowling, men’s and women’s swim and dive, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, men’s wrestling, cheer and dance.
 
The Coyotes have 356.00 points to sit No. 18 in the NAIA standings after picking up 181 points after the winter season finished. College of Idaho grabbed 73 points with a fifth-place finish at the NAIA Men’s Basketball Championship, 54 points in women’s swim and dive (12th place) and women’s indoor track and field (20th).
 
Four other CCC schools sit in the top-50, with Oregon Tech following the Coyotes in 24th place. The Owls boast 325.50 points after sitting in first place following the fall season. OIT added 50 points to its fall tally with a 17th-place finish in men’s basketball.
 
Eastern Oregon University follows with 289.50 points to sit in 32nd place. The Mounties grabbed 25 points for women’s basketball, 46 points in women’s indoor track and field, 51.5 points for men’s indoor track and field, and 63 points with a 13th-place finish at the NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championship.
 
Southern Oregon University scored in four categories to hold a No. 36 ranking with 277.00 points. The Raiders grabbed 50 points in women’s basketball, 43 points in women’s indoor track and field, 11.5 points in men’s indoor track and field, and 55 points in men’s wrestling.
 
Lewis-Clark State College rounds out the quintet in the top-50, sitting at No. 43 with 239.00 points. The Warriors sent both men’s and women’s basketball teams to nationals, with the women grabbing 50 points (17th) and the men picking up 33 points (25th). Men’s indoor track and field also added to the mix with 43.5 points (30th).
 
Corban University (92nd, 109.00 points), Bushnell University (133rd, 59.00 points), Northwest University (138th, 53.00 points), Multnomah University (155th, 38.00 points) and Warner Pacific University (161st, 25.00) round out the CCC schools on the list.
 
The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. The winter standings will begin distribution on Thursday, March 31.
