WICHITA, Kan. – The official brackets (PDF) for the 2022 NAIA Men’s Wrestling National Championships have been confirmed and announced ahead of the 65th Annual NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championships. Hartman Arena will be the site of all the action, which starts on Marth 4th at 10:00 am. CST for Session I.
All matches for the 10 weight classes will be stream live via FloWrestling. Spectators can view the live results and brackets through TrackWrestling. Additionally, the championship session on Saturday will also be distributed on ESPN3 (www.watchespn.com).
The brackets, which were preliminarily announced last week, were finalized by the NAIA-Wrestling Coaches Association Bracketing Committee on Thursday. Previously, the 18-member committee consisting of conference raters and oversight members met to select the remaining at-large qualifiers. Next, the 18-member committee along with three new oversight members determined the ranking order of each weight class.
Each conference tournament was awarded automatic bids per weight class based on the final regular-season poll, which can be seen HERE. Each conference was awarded automatic berths based on the amount of wrestlers ranked in each weight class. Each conference was awarded a minimum of one automatic bid per weight class, which will go to the tournament champions, even if the conference did not have any wrestlers ranked in the final regular-season poll.
Grand View (Iowa), Life (Ga.), and Reinhardt (Ga.) will travel a full team of 12 wrestlers to the national championships. Indiana Tech and Southeastern will bring 11 wrestlers each with Cumberlands (Ky.) boasting 10 total. The Mid-South Conference led all conferences with 66 individual qualifiers. The Cascade Collegiate Conference was second with 43 qualifiers, while the Heart of America Athletic Conference receives 38.
