UBC and LC State Set for Final Day Battle at CCC Championships

EAGLE POINT, Ore. – British Columbia and Lewis-Clark State will battle for the Cascade Conference title tomorrow, as the two rivals sit five stokes apart after 36 holes of play at the CCC Men’s Golf Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Eagle Point Golf Club.
 
The Warriors (294-300 – 594) held a 4-stroke lead after the morning round, but the T-Birds (298-291 – 589) carded the best round of the day, a 3-over 291, in the windy afternoon circuit to take a 5-shot lead into the final round.
 
UBC’s Russell Howlett (70-74 – 144) is tied for the individual lead with Oregon Tech senior Mayson Tibbs (72-72 – 144), three strokes ahead of UBC’s Ethan de Graff (78-69 – 147) and LCSC’s Kristof Panke (73-74 – 147).
 
Bushnell (294-323 – 617) had a share of the Round 1 lead, thanks to an opening round 69 from Andrew Webb (69-79 – 148), who sits in a tie for fifth with Carlos Davila (74-74 – 148) of LC State.
 
Round 2 will begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. – with the players beginning on Hole 1. The tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships.
