Fourteen CCC Student-Athletes Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 147 student-athletes from 62 schools who comprise the 2022 NFCA NAIA All-Region teams.

The awards honor student-athletes from the Association’s six regions with selection to one of two teams. NFCA member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.

If they were not already voted to an All-Region squad, conference Players and Pitchers of the Year from member institutions are added to the second team in their region, so long as they are nominated by their member head coach and receive votes.

All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the two NFCA NAIA All-America squads, which will be announced on June 7.

The Cascade Collegiate Conference saw 14 student-athletes make the list.

Southern Oregon University’s Cayla Williams and Riley Donovan were named to the Region III first team, while Ashton Cathey, Deja Acosta, and Phelicity Fa’aita picked up second-team honors, along with College of Idaho’s Hattie Hruza.

Oregon Tech saw six players earn Region IV first-team recognition: Sarah Abramson, McKenna Armantrout, Kennedy Jantzi, Jayce Seavert, Kaila Mick and McKenzie Staub. OIT’s Maggie Buckholz and Northwest University’s Emily Barry grabbed Region IV second-team honors.
