KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022 Softball All-America teams as selected by the NAIA-Softball Coaches’ Association All-America Committee. Riley Donovan of Southern Oregon University headlines the honorees as the National Player of the Year.
Donovan ended the season with an impressive .481 batting average and slugged just shy of 1.000 on the year (.973). The senior recorded 88 hits and 89 RBI, which were both tops in the NAIA. The catcher was a first-team all-conference selection in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and was named the CCC Player of the Year. The California native was also ranked No. 1 in the nation in total bases (178) and walks (51). She ended the year ranked in the top 10 in
12 statistical categories.
Three other Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes were named to the All-America teams, with Oregon Tech’s Sarah Abramson joining Donovan on the first team. The College of Idaho’s Haley Loffer and SOU’s Phelicity Fa’aita grabbed second-team honors.
