CCC and Six Institutions Win Champions of Character® Five-Star Award

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference, along with six institutions were named Champions of Character® Five-Star Award winners for 2021-22, announced by the NAIA.

To be named a Champions of Character Five-Star Conference, conferences must have an established Champions of Character Conference Committee, a conduct in competition oversight committee composed of a minimum of three members and at least 50-percent of member institutions receiving the NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award.

Bushnell University and Eastern Oregon University each earned gold status at the institution level, Lewis-Clark State College and Northwest University picked up silver recognition, while Corban University and Warner Pacific University earned bronze.

Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.
