Oregon Tech Predicted to Defend its CCC Women’s Soccer Crown

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After sweeping both the regular Cascade Collegiate Conference title and the CCC Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, Oregon Tech was picked to repeat as the conference released the 2022 CCC Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll Thursday.

The Owls picked up nine of 13 possible first-place votes, sitting atop the poll with 162 points. OIT finished the 2021 campaign with a 20-3-1 overall and 11-1 conference record, setting a record for most wins in a season and making a historic run at the NAIA Championship to finish ranked No. 4 overall – its highest-ever national ranking.

The College of Idaho follows the Owls in the No. 2 spot with 145 points, including one first-place vote. Southern Oregon University sits at No. 3 with 136 points, followed by Eastern Oregon University, which has some CCC coaches’ interests piqued with three first-place votes.

Northwest University rounds out the top five with 121 points, while Corban University grabbed 106 points to sit in sixth and Rocky Mountain College follows in seventh with 100 points. Carroll College earned 82 points to hold at No. 8, while four points separate the No. 9, No. 10 and No. 11 spots. The Evergreen State College edges out the trio with 55 points, followed closely by Warner Pacific University with 54 points and the University of Providence with 51 points.

Bushnell University and Multnomah University close out the poll in the No. 12 and No. 13 spots, respectively.

The CCC season begins in just over a month on Sept. 16, with the conference tournament slated to start on Nov. 7, hosted by Bushnell.
