Mounties Draw With Flames

VANCOUVER, WASH.- The Mounties were back in action Sunday morning as they traveled to Vancouver, Wash. to take on Bethesda University of California in a neutral site, non- conference match. The match was a physical, defensive battle that would ultimately end 0-0, where neither team was able to find a groove on the offensive side of the ball.

The Mountaineers were once again able to be effective defensively which was sparked today by goalkeeper Armando Mendoza. Playing all 90 minutes in the match, he was able to rack up 4 saves, allowing no goals. The Mountie offense was not able to find the back of the net in the match, despite posting 12 total shots and having a number of good looks, the ball just did not roll in their direction as the Mounties post their first scoreless game of the 2022 season.

By The Numbers:

  • Mounties accounted for three more total shots than Flames

  • 25 total fouls in the match

The Mounties will look to bounce back and get back to their winning ways as they begin Cascade Collegiate Conference play at home against Multnomah on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 P.M.
