UBC Women's Golf Leads After Opening Round of College of Idaho Invitational

CALDWELL, Idaho - The University of British Columbia leads the field after shooting a 283 (-5) in Monday's opening round of the College of Idaho Invitational. 

UBC posted a five-under par for a 31-stroke lead on the field. The Thunderbirds have its entire lineup in the top five, including individual leader Sonja Tang, who shot a 69 (-3). A stroke behind Tang is teammate Grace Bell, who shot a 70 (-2). 

The field also includes local member and NCAA Division II, Northwest Nazarene University, who is behind UBC with a 314 (+26). Lewis-Clark State is third with a 325 (+37), Oregon Tech is fourth with a 331 (+43) and Walla Walla is fifth with a 361 (+73).

The tournament will wrap up on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at TimberStone Golf Course in Caldwell.
