T-Birds Lead Close Race After Day One of Multnomah Invite

CARSON, Wash. – No. 8-ranked UBC holds a narrow, three-stroke lead after Monday's opening round of the Multnomah Invitational.

The Thunderbirds carded a 566 (280-286) to sit atop the nine-team leaderboard, followed closely by No. 15-ranked Lewis-Clark State College's 569 (284-285). Host Multnomah University sits in is third with a 590, while Walla Walla University sits two strokes behind in fourth with a 590 (297-293). Oregon Tech (597), College of Idaho (598) and Bushnell University (599) fill in spots five through seven and are separated by just two strokes. Southern Oregon University finished with a 608 to sit in eighth place, while Corban University rounds out the nine teams with a 613. 
 
Devon Caruso of Lewis-Clark State is the top individual after 36 holes of play, shooting a 138 (70-68) for a two-stroke lead. UBC's JP Kahlert follows in second with a 140 (69-71), while the Warriors' Sondre Anresen (71-70) and T-birds' Dylan Macdonald (68-73) each carded a 141. WWU's Eddie Tache rounds out the top-five after finishing with an even 142 (73-69). 

The two-day invite concludes Tuesday at the Elkridge Golf Course.
