KIRKLAND – Northwest peppered the nets for seven goals and the Eagles posted their third shutout in a 7-0 win over Soka on Saturday.
NU posted seven goals on 18 shots and 14 shots on goal while Hanne Breur logged a pair of saves for her third shutout in as many starts this season.
"We played a very complete game today, coming out with intensity and purpose from the start, and we kept it up until the last minute," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud. "I am very proud of the team performance and we'll enjoy the van ride to Pendleton a little more tonight as we look towards playing Jamestown tomorrow."
Liv Lagerquist and Maya Lewis had two goals apiece with Grace Burke, Gracie VanAssche and Rachel Russell also getting on the board. Kayla Soderstrom added two assists and the Eagles got one assist each from Halley Marschall, Elizbeth Moretti, Lewis, VanAssche, Olivia Morris and Russell.
Lagerquist got the game-winner in the 10th minute, playing home a feed from Marschall after a Lewis corner kick.
VanAssche tapped in a goal with an assist from Moretti in the 12th minute.
Grace Burke made it 3-0 in the 18th minute, playing home a pass from Soderstrom. Soderstrom added her second assist in the 36th minute with Rachel Russell burying the goal.
Lagerquist got her second goal in the 60th minute with an assist coming from Morris.
Lewis made it 6-0 in the 75th minute, getting help from Russell and then closed out the scoring in the 85th minute, using an assist from VanAssche.
Northwest has outscored opponents 13-0 through three games this season and faces a stern test against Jamestown at 2 p.m., Sunday, in Oregon. The Jimmies are coming off a 2-1 win over fourth-ranked Oregon Tech.
