Rize Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. The following two CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Dec. 19-31, 2022 – there were no players of the week selected on Dec. 26.
 
Men’s Basketball – Player
Bushnell University’s Spencer Hoffman was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Hoffman, a junior from Eugene, Ore., had another huge weekend as the Beacons won twice to move into a four-way tie for sixth in the CCC after an 0-3 start. He scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting to lift Bushnell 106-78 over The Evergreen State College and followed with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting in a 95-89 victory over Northwest University. Hoffman finished the week averaging 20.5 points per game on 68.2 percent shooting and had 13.0 rebounds per game and three blocks on the weekend. He has scored 20 or more points in eight straight games. In CCC games, he is ranked second for FG%, and third for scoring and rebounding.
 
Women’s Basketball – Player
No. 10-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Maddie Holm was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this year.
 
Holm, a junior forward from Saint Helens, Ore., helped the Warriors sweep the final weekend of 2022, including a big win over No. 20-ranked Eastern Oregon University to give the Warriors sole possession of first place in the CCC standings. She averaged a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds between the two games. In Saturday's victory over in-state rival College of Idaho, Holm led the contest with 21 points and 14 rebounds. She shot 40 percent from the field, .375 from three-point range and went 7-for-10 from the free-throw line.
