SOLVANG, Calif. – Jackson Muramoto continues to add his name to the Bushnell record book, earning medalist honors at the TMU Danish Classic, hosted at the Alisal Ranch Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
Muramoto shot a 69-71—140 (-4), the third-best two-round tournament score in school history. He now holds all of the top three two-round tournament results in Bushnell history. He previously posted a 137 (-7) at the Bushnell Fall Invite in 2021 and a 139 (-5) at the Willamette Valley Cup last spring.
“Leading up to the tournament, I felt really mentally prepared and ready for the challenge of the course,” said Muramoto. “After the first round, I had a ton of confidence in taking on the next day. I went in to day two with a one-shot lead and was anxious to finish strong. The second round was a battle but I was fortunate enough to get the job done. Alisal Ranch was a fun course to play and I got to meet a lot of nice players and coaches.”
Bushnell tied their second-best two-round tournament in history, recording a 303-295—598 as a team. The 598 (+22) ties their result from last year at the same tournament.
Director of Golf Larry Watts said, “The men played well today and grew as golfers. Jackson played extremely well on a tactical layout, and it was a tough field. I am really proud of how all the men fought and are beginning to apply some good strategies.”
