Senatra Secures Coastal Collegiate Classic Individual Crown, Southern Oregon Cruises to Team Title

GLENEDEN BEACH, Ore. – The story of two separate tales played out on the course today in the final round of the 2023 Coastal Collegiate Classic, as the individual title came down to the last few holes played while the team championship was decided handily following the second overall round.

"Kristin golfed remarkably well this week, playing through all of the elements to earn a well-deserved individual title," Corban head coach Charlie Marshall shared. "She was able to handle the competition well today after the rain made things more complicated yesterday and represented our program well!"

The Raiders of Southern Oregon University (1,109) flew to a team title after the program found their consistent rhythm on the course during the final two rounds, as NCAA DIII Texas Lutheran University (1,116) was unable to overcome a 59 stroke differential on the last day of the tournament.

After leading through the first two rounds, Corban University's senior Kristin Senatra was able to hold on for her first individual tournament victory of the season as she expanded her lead throughout the day and continued her consistency en route to a three-round score of 232 (+19). Southern Oregon's Kiera Cheng was hot on Senatra's tail following round two where only three strokes separated the top pair, but was unable to find results she needed on the course today in her second-place efforts.

Texas Lutheran's Braydee Frederick broke a tie for third on the final day by shooting an 82 for a final score of 253 (+40), followed by The College of Idaho's lone individual player Kaylee Jones (255) and SOU's Haley Brown (257) to round out the top five finishers from the Oregon coast tourney.

The Warriors will have just under two weeks to prepare for their final fall tournament on the 2023 schedule, as they'll journey south to Carmel, California at the Quail Lodge and Golf Club for the Menlo Fall Tournament, set to be hosted on October 30th and 31st by Menlo College.
