CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following eleven CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Oct. 16 – 22, 2023.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
Corban University’s Jackson Bragg was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Bragg (71-71-77 – 219), a senior from Chico, Calif., took home the individual title at the Coastal Collegiate Classic among NAIA and NCAA DIII competition. He shot back-to-back even rounds to begin the three-day tournament before clinching the crown by three strokes, leading the Warriors to a second-place team finish.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
Corban University Kristin Senatra was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Senatra (74-80-78 – 232), a senior from Happy Valley, Ore., emerged victorious as the individual champion last week at the Coastal Collegiate Classic among NAIA and NCAA DIII competition. She clutched her first title of the fall season on the back of multiple impressive rounds, finishing seven strokes ahead of the runner up.
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 9 College of Idaho’s Daniel Butler was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
Butler, a senior from Buhl, Idaho, took second overall at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic on Saturday among 284 total runners. He reached a personal record in the 8K with a time of 24:23.0, leading the Yotes to a team title.
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 3 College of Idaho’s Ellyse Tingelstad was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season.
Tingelstad, a senior from Joseph Ore., finished first at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic on Saturday. She covered the 6K course in 20:52.0, setting a new personal record. This led the Yotes to a team title among 287 total runners.
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
No. 25 Southern Oregon University’s Casey Ruvolo was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Ruvolo, a sophomore goalkeeper from New River, Ariz., led the Raiders to its sixth straight victory. On Friday in the 3-0 shutout over Oregon Tech, he kept the Owls off the board with three saves for his fifth clean sheet in six games. Southern Oregon holds the top spot in the conference standings.
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Warner Pacific University Hunter Leach was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Leach, a senior forward from La Center, Wash., ended the weekend with four goals and an assist with an impressive .909 sog%. He led the Knights with two goals against Walla Walla University (7-0) and two over Rocky Mountain College (4-1) last weekend. WPU has secured a CCC Tournament berth.
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
No. 15 College of Idaho’s Hannah McFadden was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
McFadden, a senior goalkeeper from Meridian, Idaho, recorded seven saves on the weekend, leading the Yotes to 13 straight victories and claiming nine straight clean sheets. C of I’s shutouts were over Corban University (5-0) and Bushnell University (1-0) to lead to a CCC regular season title.
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Carroll College’s Emily Funseth was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Funseth, a senior forward from Great Falls, Mont., was responsible for another dominant weekend by Carroll. She made a goal on Friday in the 3-0 win over The Evergreen State College. On Saturday, she made one shot against (RV) Northwest University in the 83rd minute to end in a 1-1 draw. She recorded a .800 sog% while helping the Fighting Saints hold the second spot in the conference standings.
Volleyball – Attacker
No. 6 Corban University’s Rylee Troutman was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Attacker of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Troutman, a junior outside hitter from Powell Butte, Ore., led the Warriors to another two road win weekend. She recorded a .293 attack percentage across the matches on top of 45 total kills (5.63 k/s). She also made 28 digs, four blocks, and a pair of service aces in the Warriors victories over The Evergreen State College (3-0) and (RV) Northwest University (3-2). Troutman leads the CCC in kills, averaging 4.26 a set.
Volleyball – Defender
No. 3 Eastern Oregon University’s Mylie Mills was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Defender of the Week for the third time this season.
Mills, a freshmen middle hitter from Nampa, Idaho, recorded an impressive 12 blocks in the Mounties three-win weekend. She also contributed 20 kills in the victories over College of Idaho (3-1), Warner Pacific University (3-0), and Multnomah University (3-0). Mills is currently second in the CCC in hitting percentage with a .329 average and third in blocks with 80 total.
Volleyball – Setter
(RV) Northwest University’s Allie Flynn was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Setter of the Week.
Flynn, a senior setter from Spokane, Wash., led the Eagles with 71 assists last week, averaging 5.46 per set. She also contributed 35 digs, four service aces, and three kills with a .500 attack percentage. Northwest won against The Evergreen State College (3-1) and Bushnell University (3-1) while falling to No. 6-ranked Corban University in five sets.
