CORVALLIS, Ore. – In the latest episode of the CCC Podcast:
Cascade Connects, Commissioner Rob Cashell talks with Champion of Character, Sam Silver.
Silver is from Mount Vernon, Wash., and graduated in spring 2023 from Bushnell University with her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She was the starting pitcher for the Beacons softball team and earned numerous academic awards across the CCC, NAIA, and CSC.
Most remarkably, she was an advocate for her peers and community at Bushnell. Sam developed mental health resources and programs across her institution to spread awareness and knowledge regarding many issues student-athletes face. Her efforts were awarded with two back-to-back
CCC Champion of Character awards (
2022 -
2023) on top of being named the 2022
NAIA Dr. Leroy Walker Champion of Character recipient.
Listen to Silvers’ story, the way her impact has left a legacy at Bushnell, and how she plans to take her future opportunities to new heights.
