Latest NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Rating

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference saw five teams ranked and two received votes in the second NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Rating of the season, released Thursday by the national office.
 
A new leader took over as Eastern Oregon University jumped up to the No. 5 position. College of Idaho fell to No. 9 while Southern Oregon University moved up one spot to land at No. 14. For the first time this season, Northwest University secured the No. 21 rank and Corban University rounded out the CCC teams at No. 23. Lewis-Clark State College and Oregon Tech received votes.

Rating Methodology:
  • The Top 25 was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, and Unaffiliated Groupings.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
