KANSAS CITY, Mo. – NaKoda Siegel of Montana State-Northern Univeristy has been named the first NAIA Men's Wrestler of the Week for the 2023-24 season. The winner was selected based on their performances from November 6-12 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.
Siegel, the 174-pound redshirt-senior from Montana had an incredible start to his final season. He began the week by defeating No. 13 Jordan Komac from University of Providence in an 8-3 decision at Wednesday's dual. Then he continued to show out at the Grandview Open on Saturday where he ended with a 5-0 record and a first-place finish. This included a tech fall, two victories against No. 1 Grandview University competitors, and two sudden victories over NCAA D1 athletes from Iowa State.
Sigel and the Lights are back in action on Sunday at the Spokane Open.
