CALDWELL, Idaho - In a commanding Saturday afternoon performance, the Eastern Oregon Women's Basketball team secured a resounding 71-41 victory over Simpson University at the JAAC in Caldwell, Idaho. The Mountaineers dominated both ends of the court, shooting 50% from beyond the arc while limiting Simpson to just 29.2% from the field.
The offensive charge for Eastern Oregon was led by the trio of Bayley Brennan, Brie Holecek, and Beverly Slater. Brennan impressed with a game-high 21 points, sinking five three-pointers, while Holecek contributed 13 points. Making their presence felt in the paint, Beverly Slater finished the game with 16 points and 6 rebounds, while Haley Robinett added 6 points and an impressive 10 rebounds.
Anna Marshall's sharpshooting from beyond the arc led the Red Hawks in scoring with 12 points, while Rachel Gafford contributed 10 points. The team committed 20 turnovers to the Mounties, allowing Eastern Oregon to take 13 more shots throughout the contest.
Securing Saturday's victory, EOU extends their record to 3-0 this season. They are now preparing for their next challenge in Honolulu, Hawaii, where they will face Stanislaus State in the 2023 Hoops In Hawaii Tournament next week.
