2023 Women’s Cross Country Rize Laboratory Runner of the Year

CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the third consecutive year, Ellyse Tingelstad of College of Idaho was named the 2023 CCC Women’s Cross Country Rize Laboratory Runner of the Year, announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Tingelstad, a senior from Joseph, Ore., had an outstanding final season for the Yotes, leading the team to a National Title.

This season she won three races, included the CCC Preview Meet where she completed the 4K with a time of 13:53.5. Next, at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic, she finished the 6K with a time of 20:52.0, setting a new personal record and leading the Yotes to a team title among 287 total runners. Finally at the 2023 CCC Cross Country Championships, she took home her third straight individual title, making a time of 20:51.5 for her fourth All-Conference honor while setting a new program record in the 6K.

At the 2023 NAIA Cross Country Championships, Tingelstad led the conference, recording a time of a 21:16.1 for a runner-up finish while reaching her fourth All-American honor.

In her final season, Tingelstad racked up three CCC weekly honors along with an NAIA Runner of the Week recognition. She was also named the West Region and National Women’s Athlete of the Year by USTFCCCA.

The Oregon Tech Owl’s received the CCC Team Sportsmanship Award for the 2023 Women’s Cross Country Season.
