CORVALLIS, Ore. – In the latest episode of the CCC Podcast: Cascade Connects, Commissioner Rob Cashell talks with 2022-23 NAIA Coach of Character of the Year, Jessica Pistole, head softball coach of Southern Oregon University.
Last season, Pistole earned the CCC Coach of Character of the Year award for the second time. While leading her team to its third National Title in four years, she was also named the NAIA Softball Coach of the Year for the third time. On award day in September, she received the NAIA Coach of Character of the Year honor.
Pistole's overall record in eight seasons at SOU is 373-114. She led the Raiders to five World Series appearances, seven national tournaments, and four 50-win campaigns while helping produce three NAIA Players of the Year.
Most notably, the Raiders have been an NAIA Scholar Team every year since Pistole's arrival in 2015. They've also completed over 250 community service hours annually. This past year, the Championship team recorded an impressive combined team GPA of 3.57.
