CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following two CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Nov. 20 – 26, 2023.
Men’s Basketball – Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Alton Hamilton was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Hamilton, a freshman forward from Fontana, Calif., was dynamic off the bench for LC State in both Warrior contests over the weekend. In the 75-67 victory over The University of Montana Western, he recorded 17 points and 16 rebounds. Against a very tough Hope International University, he tallied a team-high 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. On the week, Hamilton averaged a double-double with 13.5 points and 10.0 rebounds while shooting 47.6% in 48 minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Player
No. 10-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Callie Stevens was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Stevens, a senior guard from Puyallup, Wash., led the Warriors with 26 points on Friday against No. 5 Carroll College on a 5-for-9 performance from 3-point range. She added 15 points in the 78-72 victory over No. 18 University of Providence on Saturday. On the week, she shot 52.2% from the field and 55.6% from 3-point range while adding three rebounds and two steals. Stevens was also perfect at the free throw line (12-for-12) over the weekend with crucial foul shots to close out the win against the Argos.
