CORVALLIS, Ore. – The seeds for the 2023 Cascade Collegiate Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, were finalized Saturday.
This year marks the first time the top eight CCC Volleyball teams make the postseason tournament, with the top four earning automatic byes to the final site.
No. 3-ranked Eastern Oregon University claimed the CCC regular season championship title for the third time in four years. The Mounties picked up the top seed and hosting rights in the tournament along with the CCC’s first automatic qualifier to the NAIA Tournament. EOU ended the conference season 21-1, suffering its only conference loss to Northwest University.
No. 6-ranked Corban University earned the second seed for the second straight year, completing the CCC season with a 19-3 record. No. 16-ranked Southern Oregon University followed close in the third spot with an 18-4 conference record.
College of Idaho secured the fourth seed while Northwest University grabbed fifth. Bushnell University was next in sixth, Oregon Tech landed as the seventh seed, and Lewis-Clark State College clinched the final eighth spot of the tournament
The CCC Volleyball Tournament will begin with the fifth through eighth seeds battling it out on Nov. 7 at campus sites (hosted by higher seed). The Conference Championship will conclude at the final site of regular season champions, in in La Grande, Ore., on Nov. 10-11. Whichever team wins the tournament will earn the CCC’s second AQ to the national tournament. If EOU advances to the final, the Mounties’ opponent will earn the AQ.
