Rize Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following four CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Dec. 11 – 17, 2023.

Men's Basketball – Player
Lewis-Clark State College's Jaedon Bradley was named the Rize Laboratory Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Bradley, a senior forward from Denver, Colo., helped lead Lewis-Clark State to two more wins this weekend. He recorded his first double-double as a Warrior on Friday with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 78-49 victory, handing Corban University its first CCC loss of the season. The next day he had another impressive showing, reaching a career-high 23 points while collecting five rebounds in an 88-63 win against Bushnell University. On the week, Bradley managed a 47.2 shooting percentage while adding an assist and a steal in 59 total minutes played. LC State is currently standing atop the Cascade Conference, undefeated with five consecutive wins.

Women's Basketball – Player
Bushnell University's Aspen Slifka was named the Rize Laboratory Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Slifka, a senior guard from Banks, Ore., had an incredible weekend for the Beacons. On Friday she made over half of Bushnell's baskets, but her 29 points were not enough to defeat Walla Walla University. The next day she put on another outstanding 30-point performance, resulting in a 67-56 upset over No. 7-ranked Lewis-Clark State. This marked the highest-ranked opponent that Bushnell has ever defeated and was LCSC first CCC loss in almost a year. On the week, Slifka made half her shots, including 6-of-11 behind the arc and all 11 of her free throws. She also recorded nine rebounds, four steals, two blocks, and an assist in 76 total minutes played.

Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 12-ranked Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Keller Rock was named the Rize Laboratory Men's Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season.

Rock, a 165lbs junior from
Chino Valley, Ariz., is ranked 3rd individually and had a huge weekend with the Eagles, leading to two dual victories and an impressive outing at the Reno Tournament of Champions. He began on Friday with two falls in the duals against (RV) Wayland Baptist University and (RV) St. Ambrose University while competing above his weight class (174lbs). After losing his first match at Sunday's tournament, he fought back with a tech fall (15-0), a 4-2 decision, and two more pins to secure 6th place behind NCAA D1 opponents. Rock led Embry-Riddle to a T-11 finish at the tournament, placing as the highest CCC team and earning Team of the Week honors.

Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 3-ranked Menlo College's Samantha Barragan was named the Rize Laboratory Women's Wrestler of the Week.

Barragan, a senior from Hemet, Calif., sits at 136lbs and went undefeated this weekend at the West Coast Tournament of Champions. She began on Friday with two falls as the Oaks earned two dual victories. Saturday, she took first place at the tournament after totaling two pins and a win by decision. The 8-6 decision defeat was an upset over teammate, No. 10 Stephanie Chavez. Barragan's efforts helped lead Menlo to a first place tournament title with 258 total points.
