Mounties Swept on Day Two

ROCKLIN, Calif.- The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers continued their preseason California road trip by facing the Hope International Royals (7-1) and Jessup University Warriors (8-5). First, the Mounties were unable to get a rhythm as the Royals once again took the game in an 8-0 win. Mckenna Stallings tossed four strikeouts, but it wasn't enough to edge out the Royals. The Mounties then came back later that afternoon to face the Warriors, where they took a 1-2 loss. EOU scored first and held off the Warriors until two runs in the fourth put them on top. Eastern will finish their road trip with a doubleheader against Menlo College at 10 am and 12 pm tomorrow in Rocklin, California.

The Mounties took on the Hope International Royals and struggled to get the bats going. Royal pitcher Olivia Candelas tossed in five strikeouts to hold the Mounties scoreless.

GAME 2
Mounties getting on the board early wasn't enough to take the win in game two. Hannah Tyree grounded out to second, allowing Caitlin Crist to score the lone run for the Mounties. Eastern held the Warriors to three scoreless innings until they grabbed three hits to give them the 2-1 lead. Kaylie Hoskins had another dominant day in the circle tallying 12 strikeouts, but the Warriors found a way to get on board.
